The people behind Scope

Scope was founded by Mark and Grace Higbee, Arizona entrepreneurs who believe the biggest decision of your working life deserves real analysis — not a hunch and a handshake.

Mark spent more than two decades leading people and operations in law enforcement — thirteen of them in command roles, responsible for budgets, risk, training, and roughly forty professionals across six units — a world where every decision has to hold up under review. Grace built her career on the operator's side: leading healthcare facilities and their teams, owning and running businesses of her own, and working residential real estate as both investor and agent. Different paths, same conviction.

When we started evaluating businesses to buy ourselves, we hit what every buyer hits: each opportunity came with new questions, conflicting information, and a dozen variables that could quietly change the outcome of a deal. The tools were scattered, the math lived in our heads, and confidence was hard to come by.

Rather than accepting that as just part of the process, we built a better one.

What started as internal tools for our own deals grew into a single workspace that runs the analysis, tracks the diligence, models the financing, and tells you what to do next. The name is the mission: put a deal under the scope — see the whole picture, then lock onto what matters.

Every feature is guided by one question: will this help someone make a better acquisition decision?

If the answer is yes, it belongs in the platform. If it doesn't create clarity or meaningful insight, it doesn't ship.

We're still building Scope the way it started — not as software developers chasing features, but as buyers making the tool we wished existed.

Clarity creates confidence. That's the whole idea.
